A Midwife Check-in and Mothers Support Group
The early days and weeks with a baby can be tough for any new mum and it can leave you with a lot of questions: Am I feeding enough? How is my baby’s growth? My baby is crying a lot! Is something wrong? I’m feeling a bit down, is that okay? Motherhood is amazing, but it’s also exhausting, scary and hard sometimes.
Topics we can help with:
- Breastfeeding
- Infant feeding and nutrition
- Growth and early child development
- Safety
- Community support
- Adjustment to parenthood
- Parenting and attachment
Our Well Baby Group is a great way to check-in with our midwives/health visitors and allows you to talk about newborn care and any issues you may be having from 0-6 months. In addition to getting our midwives/health visitor support, you will also be able to meet other mums for a casual support group – because new mums need just as much support as babies do! And if there’s any issue our midwives/health visitors feel you need further support on, then we’ll refer you directly to one of our trusted partners/providers.
FAQs
Does the Well Baby clinic replace a doctor visit?
Our Baby Well clinic does NOT replace your normal baby health check ups that will take place regularly with your doctor.
The sessions are for babies that are acting and feeling fine – hence the term ‘well baby.’ If your baby seems ill, please contact your doctor immediately.
However, these sessions are a great way to check-in with our midwives/health visitors and to make sure your baby is adjusting/tracking well. Also, a wonderful advantage to our Well Baby Clinic is that we tend to cover a broader range of topics and concerns than you wouldn’t discuss with your paediatric doctor, including things like:
- Safety
- Community support
- Adjustment to parenthood
- Parenting and attachment
Why should I go to the Well Baby clinic instead of a doctor?
As a new mum, in a whole new world, it’s helpful to have frequent and regular check-ins. Not just for the baby, but for yourself! Sometimes you just want a quick and easy way to get reassurance on your baby’s progress, feeding, sleep and/or development. That’s what we’re here for!
Our midwives/health visitors have helped care for thousands of babies and are mums themselves. In addition to all the Well Baby checks that we do, we also take the time to make sure you are coping okay and can help you transition better into motherhood.
What advice can you give me?

- Growth and early child development
- Safety
- Community support

If there is something that we feel you need further support with, we will refer you to one of our trusted partners.
