Why choose
a private class?

Group classes are wonderful for community. Private classes are for when you need something different — more depth, more flexibility, or more focus on what's specific to your situation.

Your schedule — evenings, weekends, or weekdays, booked when it suits you
Your pace — spend more time on what matters, move faster through what you already know
Your situation — previous birth trauma, specific medical history, complex pregnancy, VBAC
Your location — at home with your own space, or in our studio with full equipment and demonstrations
Second-time parents — refresh what you know, focus on what's different this time

At home, or in our studio

Common questions

Can we cover more than one topic in a session?
Yes — a 3-hour session gives enough time to cover two or three topics in reasonable depth. If you want to cover everything in the 4-week curriculum, we'd suggest booking two sessions. We'll help you plan the right structure when you enquire.
Is it the same content as the group course?
Yes, the same evidence-based curriculum — but shaped entirely around you. You set the agenda, and your midwife adapts the session to your situation, your birth preferences, and your questions.
We're expecting twins — is a private class more suitable for us?
Often yes. Twin pregnancies have specific considerations around birth — presentations, timing, monitoring — that are hard to cover in depth in a group setting. A private session lets us give your situation the focus it deserves.
Can we book at home even late in pregnancy?
Absolutely. Many families prefer the at-home option precisely because travelling becomes uncomfortable in the third trimester. Our midwife comes to you — no bag to pack, no parking to find.
What's the difference between the Private Feeding Class and a lactation consultation?
A lactation consultation is typically used postnatally to address a specific feeding problem. The Private Feeding Class is structured education — covering breastfeeding mechanics, positions, colostrum harvesting, and your feeding plan — ideally booked antenatally to prepare, or postnatally as a more comprehensive alternative to a single appointment.

Not sure where to start?

Tell us your due date, where you are in your pregnancy, and what you'd most like to cover — we'll help you work out the best combination of sessions.
